I've installed my plug-ins but can't find them in my DAW. What do I do?
If you've installed your plug-ins but are unable to find them in your DAW, you probably need to do a rescan of plug-ins.
Many DAW:s automatically look for new plug-ins at each start-up, but in some cases, you might need to do it manually. Below, you'll find some examples on how this is done. If you're unsure how to do a rescan, please check your DAW manual.
Logic
The first thing to do is to simply reboot your computer. If that does not help, try the 'Reset and Rescan Selection' button in Logic's Plug-In Manager.
Studio One
The first thing to try is to go to Preferences -> Locations -> VST plug-ins. There you can select to reset the plug-in blacklist and make sure that scan at startup is selected.
If this doesn't do the trick, the next step is to manually remove the plug-in preference files. Go to the Help menu. Select "Open Settings Folder". Exit Studio One.
Finally, go into the x64 folder and remove the AUPlugins.settings, PluginBlacklist.settings, Plugins-en.settings and Vstplugins.settings files.
Restart Studio One.
Ableton
Go to the "Preferences" menu, and click the “File/Folder” tab and double-check that the VST Plug-In Customer Folder shows the correct path (and that "Use Audio Units" is set to "On", if you're on a Mac).
Double-check that “Use VST Plug-In Custom Folder” is set to “On”, then hold down the [Alt] key and click “Rescan”.
Finally, restart Ableton.
