A note from Softube

Many of you have asked us why we haven't made a statement after the recent killings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery. Because of our previous silence about any human rights or political matters, we initially thought that our statement could be seen as a sign of trendy "political correctness" or a way for us to hide behind PR language.

We were wrong.

We now understand that it is important for us and you that we publicly tell you where we stand.

The recent events made us stop, watch, listen, and think. We are living in intense times that require engaging in impactful actions and having profound discussions about a justified demand for change.

When we look in the mirror, Softube is an organization where most employees don't know what it feels like to be a victim of racism and other forms of discrimination and oppression. This privileged position means we have even more responsibility when it comes to finding ways of ending social injustice. More specifically, in a world where Black lives are not treated equally, it's a necessity that we be committed to being an anti-racist organization.

To accomplish this, we are accelerating our work on a new Corporate Social Responsibility plan. In the last week, we established an internal team that will drive discussions and try to find ways Softube can be a positive force when it comes to ending social injustice, especially racism. These discussions will also include important topics like gender equality and environmental issues. Right now, we're in deep reflection as individuals and collectively as a group. It's going to take us some time to identify the changes that need to be made within the company and start acting.

But we will take action.

We want to live in an equal and inclusive society. For that to happen, we believe we need to be agents of change, and the change needs to start within ourselves and our corner of the music industry.
