Tube-Tech PE 1C for Native/TDM Released with Introductory Offer!

The Tube-Tech PE 1C is the Pultec style equalizer. The design marked the birth of Tube-Tech 25 years ago and was created as an exact replica of the original Pultec design. Today, the PE 1C is a vintage classic still in production and can be found in professional recording studios all over the world.

The Tube-Tech PE 1C is a passive, tube-based equalizer suitable for many different sources ranging from bass drums and guitars to vocals. The equalizer features a Low Frequency section made up of two low shelf filters which can be combined to attenuate and boost at the same time. The High Frequency section has a peak and shelving filter working in parallel, which provides a smooth top end while not getting too bright.

The Tube-Tech PE 1C plug-in by Softube captures every nuance of the hardware version. It has an extremely analog sound that is evident as soon as you start using it. Every aspect of this studio standard, 25 years in the making, is now finally available as a plug-in.

Between today and August 16, you can purchase the Tube-Tech PE 1C at a special introductory price of $229 (VST/AU/RTAS) and $329 (TDM/RTAS/VST/AU/VENUE) through the Softube web store and authorized dealers.

"We are excited to experience the PE 1C in the digital domain and impressed once again by the skills of Softube."

John G. Petersen
Designer and Founder of Tube-Tech

"Just like the hardware. Really good."

Rob Chiarelli
(Leann Rimes, Aaliyah, Ray Charles, Will Smith, Christina Aguilera, etc.)

Competition Winners Announced!

Last month we ran a competition where you or a friend could be one of three lucky winners of one Softube product of your choice!

The winners were drawn at random and here's a small feature on two of them.

Christian Eisenach runs Audio 54 together with his associate Gerd Lödinge.

"First and foremost I am a post-production mixer and sound-designer, but I have been making music as a HipHop producer for 15 years now. I started my career in New York City where I graduated from the Institute of Audio Research in 1995. I went on to work at a couple of studios across town. Some of the artists I worked with as a producer are Papoose, Half-A-Mill, LOD, and HDM. After moving back to Germany I became part of a group called Lyroholika, dropping 2 albums and playing gigs all over the place for a few years. Nowadays I do music mostly for fun, since I make my money doing post-production. I occasionally take on music projects for mixing and mastering, but only those that I know I will have fun working on."

Christian mentioned that the FET Compressor has been on his wishlist for a long time and said "Keep making those great plugs!" Today we've granted his wish for the FET, congratulations!

The second winner is also from Germany, Lars plays in a really cool dub/eletro band called Tolcha.

"Background: Listening through my sister's record collection (Beatles..). Started playing drums at the age of eight, went through several hc/punk/indie bands during school, moved to Berlin for studying and got in touch with electronic music and logic audio 3.0
Now: I play in a 4-piece-outfit called tolcha. The style could be described as a blend of dub, electro and instrumental stuff. Beside electronic sound generation/sampling, real instruments have always been important for us, at least on stage
We are working on a new album which hopfully comes out oct 2010. Besides that i work as an engineer for several other people, ranging from indie/dance to mainstream rock/pop."

Lars really wanted the Tube-Tech CL 1B and mentioned that "...everyone around here, from gearfreaks to totally non-technically vocalists... are amazed by the quality of your products. Good job!"
Thanks Lars, and congrats!
