From one show to another! Thinking about coders can easily invoke the 1980's image of a lazy fat guy sitting on his chair eating chips and drinking soda in front of his computer. We're not like that, and even if we were lazy, going to all the trade shows that we do would probably keep us fit anyway! NAMM and Musikmesse is fun but it's good to be back. We're still some time away from the next plug-in release (see below!) but things are pretty dynamite here anyway... New plug-in coming: Valley People Dyna-miteWe weren't kidding when we said a while back that we weren't going to lay low. In case you missed the news, we actually announced a new plug-in at Musikmesse: the oddball Valley People Dyna-mite. The Dyna-mite is perhaps most famous for smashing up drum busses, but if you dig a little deeper into it you'll see that it's capable of so much more. It's actually a very creative piece of gear once you get to know it. We saw many happy faces at Musikmesse when we demoed it and hopefully you'll like it as well. There's a lot to be said about it, and much of it is said at our website. Videos, videos, videosIf you can't wait to try for yourself what the Valley People Dyna-mite can do, check out the brand new videos we've uploaded. What we want you to see is that the Dyna-mite is more than a one-trick-pony... And that side-chain expansion is frickin' hot! Check out the Softube Youtube page for lots of videos! Marshall and Softube receives M.I.P.A. award for the JMD:1What a great reception the Marshall-Softube collaboration has received! As you know, we did the JMD:1 together with the giant of amps - Marshall. Now we have actually won an award for it, doesn't get any better than that. The award, which was voted by over 100 magazines, was for Best Guitar Amp Head. Longtime Softube users of course already know that we make great amps... Software or hardware. Musikmesse aftermathWe had a lot of fun at the show. Musikmesse is always a blast. Sure, can't beat the weather at NAMM, but those Germans know their beer. We want to give a big "thanks" to everyone who stopped by our booth and checked out our products (or just wanted to chat, that's nice too!). If you're not tired of the show yet, you can check out some of the pictures we took at our website or our Facebook page. Latest reviewsThe Tube-Tech CL 1B continues to get kickass reviews. The latest comes from Computer Music who, by the way, had a lot of good to say about the Passive-Active Pack not long ago. Computer Music states that the CL 1B is good on every source they try it on, vocals, guitars, bass, drums and piano. They conclude with the following verdict: Softube deliver a superb compressor with a genuine analogue sound. Head over to Musicradar and read it! Swedish magazine Musikermagasinet has reviewed Spring Reverb and Tube Delay. They note the strong character of both plug-ins, especially pointing out the use for experimental sounds and lo-fi character. They conclude that Spring Reverb lacks competition and is a must in every plug-in collection. |
